Painted in the impressionist style a favorite historic house of the artist who visited often during his childhood. Waveny is one of America's great estates, The architect for the structure was William Tubby. Landscape design for the original residence was by landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. Near New York City the Connecticut house is a Jacobean Tudor mansion, was constructed in 1912 for the Lewis Lapham family.
